Law Enforcement:
-
We all want our neighborhoods to be safe places to work and raise our families. Yet, the relationship between us the public and our law enforcement community can at times be tenuous.
I don’t see society as being “us vs. them”, I believe it should be “us vs. crime”. We need to build a relationship with our public safety officials where we can trust that they will do their jobs correctly and provide them with the training and support required to do so.
As your state representative, I have and will continue to advocate for the safety of our communities and families with legislation that ensures level-headed, common-sense solutions to any current and potential issues.
Economic Development:
-
Promoting economic development is essential for the prosperity of our state and community. By fostering a business-friendly environment, we can attract investment, create jobs, and stimulate growth.
I am committed to supporting policies that encourage entrepreneurship, streamline regulations, and invest in infrastructure. Through strategic initiatives, we can diversify our economy, strengthen local businesses, and ensure sustainable economic growth that benefits all residents.
Fiscal Responsibility:
-
In the realm of fiscal responsibility, I firmly believe that sound financial management is the bedrock of a prosperous society. Our state's budget deserves meticulous attention, ensuring that taxpayer dollars are spent judiciously and with a keen eye on long-term economic health.
As your Representative, I will continue to advocate for transparent fiscal policies, responsible spending, and the reduction of unnecessary bureaucratic expenses. By fostering a culture of fiscal responsibility, we can safeguard our state's financial well-being for current and future generations.
Public Education:
-
In our free marketplace of ideas, we should give parents an option on where to send their children for schooling, regardless of their background or the zip code they live in.
A child’s educational foundation is vital to their trajectory in life. That is why I am dedicated to expanding school choice.
This provides for a competitive environment where teachers can feel advocated for, parents are empowered, and the focus of education comes back to what is most important, our children.
Mental Health:
-
Addressing mental health is not only a moral imperative, but crucial for the overall well-being of our communities. I am dedicated to fostering an environment where mental health is de-stigmatized, accessible, and effectively supported.
By collaborating with mental health professionals, educators, and community leaders, I aim to implement policies that bolster mental health resources, raise awareness, and promote early intervention. Through these efforts, we can create a society that values and prioritizes the mental health of every individual.
First Amendment:
-
Just as I champion the right to choose our children's education, I staunchly defend all of our First Amendment rights. Freedom of speech, religion, and the press are the cornerstones of our democracy.
I will adamantly oppose any legislation that encroaches upon these fundamental rights. We must uphold the principles of free expression, allowing every citizen the liberty to voice their opinions, practice their religion, and access information without undue government interference.
Parental Rights:
-
There is no circumstance in which any governing body should influence the raising of children more than the parents. As a father, I know that no one has my child’s best interests at heart more than I do.
I will advocate for parental rights and the families of Utah every single day.
States Rights:
-
As your Representative, I recognize the importance of states' rights in shaping policies that reflect the unique needs and values of our communities.
I will advocate for a balanced federal-state relationship, ensuring that decisions are made at the most localized level possible. This approach empowers Utah to address specific challenges and opportunities, preserving our autonomy and allowing us to tailor solutions that best serve our residents.
Upholding states' rights is essential for maintaining a robust and responsive government that truly represents the interests of the people.
Gun Safety and
2nd Amendment Rights:
-
Nobody wants family members and friends to be harmed by accidental discharges from incorrectly stored firearms. That's why I sponsored legislation that gave incentives to firearm owners who purchased gun safes and locks to protect their families.
As firearm owners, we can do better. I am committed to championing any legislation that protects our 2nd Amendment Rights.
Religious Freedom:
-
Religious freedom is a cornerstone of America. This freedom allows all Americans to think, express, and act upon what we deeply believe no matter our background or beliefs.
I greatly respect the diverse belief systems of my fellow Utahns, and as your Representative, I am committed to defending the ability to practice your religious liberties.
