2025 General Session: Week 2
Hello District 26!
We just finished up our second week of the Session, and I'm eager to bring you some updates on the bills I am working on this year.
Week 2 Legislative Update
One of my bills, HB294, received a unanimous favorable recommendation by the House Health and Human Services Committee. This bill deals with face-covering requirements in public places for people with certain disabilities. It prohibits the issuance of orders of constraint.
Another one of my bills, HB195, has been assigned to the House Judiciary Committee and is waiting for its second reading. This bill protects individuals from forfeiting their firearms during court proceedings when they are not a restricted person.
Two more of my bills, HB143 and HB271, are still awaiting committee assignment. I will give more updates on these as they are presented in the coming weeks.
I thank you all for your support as I continue working to make our communities and our state a great place to live, work, and raise a family. Please reach out to me, or my intern Jamie, with any questions, concerns, or comments on the work I am doing on the Hill.
Thank you, and have a great week!
